Ingredients:

Filling:
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
2 medium pears, sliced

Topping:
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup margarine
1 cup oats uncooked
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg slightly beaten

Directions: Heat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch square or round baking pan. For filling, combine first 3 ingredients in medium saucepan and stir in cranberries. Heat to a boil to reduce. Simmer 5 minutes, or until cranberries pop open, stir in pears. Pour into pan. For topping, combine flour and sugar, cut in margarine until crumbly. Stir in oats and mix well. Add egg, mix until moistened. Crumble over fruit. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serves 8.
